The Air Measuring Kit is used to measure
the uphole bailing velocity of the air being delivered by the compressor with
the drillbit and drillrods currently in use on the machine, and to establish if the
compressor system is operating normally.
It is also used to determine if the
delivered velocity bears a true relation to the rated capacity of the
compressor.
The kit comprises of an orifice flow tube
with thread adaptors to suite tricone drillbits commonly in use. A number
of orifice plates are provided that will allow for the measurement of airflow
with virtually any size of drillbit nozzles. Two air pressure gauges for
high and low pressure systems are provided to allow for the testing of both DTH
and rotary drillrigs.
The kit is supplied with a set of tables
and example calculations to allow for the simple determination of the airflow
with the drillbit nozzles or hammer choke in use.
Drilling Project Services will if necessary
assist the purchaser of these units in calculating the airflow using by making
our e-mail address available.
